So awesome to be here.
We are Laura and Gordon Bornkamp. We have been retired for 22 years and full time traveling for 21years...we are still traveling for many months but by car and motels....a big change but we love our life and where we live in Pahrump, Nevada at the Escapees Park.

The best day ever!
Yesterday was a day that will be long remembered by us....who could ask for anything more then being in my favorite state enjoying all the parades, the free ferry and the wonderful 1/2 campground - Bayou Segnette State Park. Last night we topped it off with the SAINTS winning the Super Bowl.....and we have just begun, heading for another week at the most popular campground in Abbeyville where we all get a local Cajun woman who will spoil us to death....I will report on this later.

The Ferry!!!
We did not park in New Orleans we mostly took the free ferry about
10 miles from our campground.

We are off to 3 parades and then watch the Super Bowl,
it is crazy here - everyone is having a good time.

Saturday's three parades!
We had a good time at the west bank today. We attended 3 parades.
Dang we have lots and lots of beads.
Look what one can do with corks!
This was the wine parade!!! Everyone had too much to drink but all had a great time.
Now this is what I'm talkin about!
Muffuletta sandwich is an awesome dinner when shared by four people.
This was so good - $14..

Along the coast....
As we were driving on Beach Blvd we found several sculptures
were made out of trees that did not survive Katrina.
Odd job!!!
We were cold too.....this is at the IP casino....we got our
players club cards and all four of us came out with money...
