Margarite turned 90!

This is my dear friend Margarite. Her daughter who is also a very dear friend had a Hawaiian themed party for her. It was so nice and as you can see she is the queen. I tried to snatch the tiara before I left.

Let's eat!!!

Fine dining!!!

California Culinary Academy

Juanita and Gene took us out for dinner for our anniversary present. We had a ball. The food was really good and presentation was excellent. We started slowly at 6PM and ate and I do mean ate until 9PM. Then we went night clubbing. We closed that Blues club down to. One of my most memorable nights.
THANK YOU JUANITA & GENE!

Our beautiful Maggie is for sale!

Are plans fell through. We cannot
keep our motorhome and let her
sit while we are fixing up our house.
So she is up for sale. Whoever buys
this rig will be very fortunate.
Call for more details.

That's the way he came!

While taking a ride we say this 1/2 and 1/2 animal.
Isn't it weird. But it is real.

The 99 cent only store!

We were turned on to this store a few years ago by our friends the Paces. Ever
since then we keep our eyes open for them. I even went on the internet to find
the 99 cent only stores. YES, they have fresh veggies I usually buy a lot and
have stir frys until they are all used up.

What anniversary money?

Yes it did not take us long to spend the money our kids gave us for our
anniversary. But with Garrick's help Gordon got exactly what "we" wanted.
Then because it would have taken us forever, Garrick set it up for us. So again
a big thanks for a gift we will enjoy for along time. We will take it with us where ever we go.

Oh crap the pictures are in the wrong order!

Sorry I spent enough time trying to fix it. I am hungry......bye.....Laura

The kitchen is 99% complete!

The kitchen floor measurments!

The newspaper pattern for the kitchen floor

Doesn't Gordon look happy? We just laid newspaper on the entire floor for our pattern. And a good job we did do!!

More of the finished project!

OK what is next?????

Kitchen Floor Complete

I am so pleased. It took the whole day measuring, cleaning and making sure everything was just right but as you can see IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. It did take the whole day.

Here is the new kitchen floor!

Here we go. The new kitchen floor
all rolled up and ready to go. Want
help? Gordon has to be very careful in his calculations, a screw-up will not be good. I know he can do it. Gordon is very talented and likes to do things the correct way the first time.

I am very grateful for my husband!

Here's what we did Saturday!

We took the floor out in the kitchen. It was awful. Two layers of tile we had laid a long time ago. Gordon had to use a hammer and chisel in some spots. Then some of the wood needed to be replaced.

Does this ever end. NO!!!

I want the house looking as good as it can for our anniversary/open house party on 8-11..

He is in the Marines!

My nephew joined the Marines. Even though he is just in boot camp, it would be great if you would like to support him with letters or anything that might help a young man leaving home for the first time.

He is:

RCT Malta, Daniel J
PLT 1073 1st BN D Co.

Parris Island, SC 29905-1073

I thank you all in advance.

City Hall all lite up!!!! Why??

San Francisco City Hall is in bathed in orange in honor of Barry Bonds, who is closing in on Hank Aaron's homerun record.

double click on the picture and you can see it better!

Friday!

I had a great day visiting with my sister, Lola from Florida. She was at her daughters, Dee's house for 10 days. We had a great lunch and Dee brought dinner. Wow what a girl! Dee brought her two daughters Tarra and Lauren. They had never been here before. Everyone loved what we are doing to the house and cannot imagine all the work that still remains.

I am grateful everyday for the strength and hard work we are able to pour into our wonderful, neglected home.

Who's dumb idea was this????

People who this house in the 60's and 70's did all kinds of stupid stuff to the house. One thing they did was these windows. Who wants two different size windows right next to each other like this. We painted around the windows to brighten the room and fix some stains that we could not scrub out. Gordon and I have never lived here since they built the condo on the this side of the house. Well guess what the neighbors can look right down and into our kitchen. I did not like that. So Gordon and I found these wood blinds and now we have privacy and can still let the light in. AWESOME!!!!

The kitchen floor is next!!!!

Windows are finished!

Recyling in San Fran!!!!

First we recycle --- then several other people come around digging in our garbage so they can recycle.

Fisherman's Wharf

We had a good time at Fisherman's Wharf with
Junior. Junior had to have a crab cocktail, it
was really good he said. I really love being with
Junior he is smart and very funny and he loves

San Francisco Golden Gate Park

We stopped to smell the flowers!

A trip to Lombard Street

We took Junior on the crookest street in the world.

A trip to Fishermans Wharf

What would a trip to Fishermans Wharf be without a crab cocktail???

3 D fun!

Our grandson really wanted to go to the 3 3-D fun ride. Thank goodness Grandpa went with him. He really loved it. Junior is not a spoiled child at all and really fun to be with.

Pier 39!

That is Alcatraz behind us. We got to see all the seals, eat churros and head for Fisherman's Wharf.

Now we are talking - something to climb!

Wow! I did not make the climb. Going up would not be so bad as going down. (Japanese Tea Garden)

A 6 day visit with our grandson, Junior!

Even though we are working so hard on the house
we had to make time to have fun with Junior. So
we took a trip to the Japanese Tea Garden. This
was ok but maybe not his cup of tea!!!!!

THANK YOU FOR THE WEDDING SERVER KNIFE!

Dear Jean and Barry,
What a nice gift. I love the "Enternity ring" on the server. Yes, it is very appropriate. I love it and will be thinking of you when we cut the cake.

Before the DEMO team!

The yard was over grown and black berries have taken over but not anymore. See next picture.

We are the Demo Team!

Garrick, Gordon and me, we pulled everything out of the back yard. We are starting bare. I poisoned all the weeds and old grass today. Our friend Barbara is going to help get this all set up again. We really worked hard on this and of course we get to drag it all to the front of the house so we can take it to the dump. It seems we will never get done.
WOO is me!!! (just kidding)

Let's play marbles!

Here are two of my favorite boys playing marbles in the living room. Since the house tilts they have to play on the rug. Junior is staying with us for about one week.

Toastie!

Junior is toasty warm with Mark's blanket made by his mom, Chyrisa. I told Junior it was special and not just anyone can use it. Chyrisa is making one for him, he wants 49er colors.

A beautiful hand made gift!

My dear friend Gretchen has magic in her fingers. She made these beautiful coaster/wasties for us so that our glass will not be wet on the bottom. Thank you Gretchen I cherish all the wonderful quilt things you have made me. I love wearing my jacket I tell everyone my best friend made it for me.
THANKS!

Breakfat fit for a grandson!

Grandpa Gordon knows when Junior comes over he expects American Toast with big strawberries and some chocolate is always good too.
