Veggie Spray Recipe!!

I learned this on Rachael Ray. If you cannot or don't want to buy organic veggies here is a mixture to help get the veggies clean.

one cup water
one cup distilled white vinegar
one tablespoon baking soda
20 drops of grapefruit seed extract

Combine all in a spray bottle
Spray on veggies let sit for 10 minutes.
Clean again with water.

The senseless death of John Avery!!

John Avery was our neighbor across the street in his 50's, he was a taxi driver in our city.
Some young person robbed a camera store and was speeding down the street at 1 AM in the morning. John coming home from work was on a hill and when he went forward this 19 year old smashed into him and killed him instantly. This happened a year ago. Yesterday his family (first picture left side) had a memorial bench put in our park close by our street.

Hard at work in the front!!!

It took us along time to just clean out the front from years and years of neglect. We took loads and loads to the dump. I think our neighbors used it as a garbage can. It has so many rocks and roots in there it has made it seem impossible to really do anything in here. So we decided to plant shade plants since the front gets little or no sun. The angle in the front yard is horrid to try to work on, I sled down once but luckily didn't go off the end. We planted ivy everywhere hoping it will look ok.

Nothing too much new for us.

Gordon and I are enjoying our home. We are working on the front and back yards that are looking better everyday.

We are heading to see the Giants play ball tonight and tomorrow. It is awesome taking public transportation and avoiding the 30 dollar parking fee. The tickets cost $26 and that is in the nose bleed seats. Our son got them for us for free - so no complaining - the weather is awesome today. Cannot wait to go. Two of our sons will meet us there.

I just made a reservation to be with my daughter for a few weeks during Mark's birthday. Mark would have been 24 on May 23rd. We are still so sad that he is gone, but our faith that we will see him again is very strong. Chyrisa is planning some projects for us to give back in Mark's name.

Did I tell everyone that Garrick got a job. He started last Monday. 12 miles from our house, not sure if he will be living with us or not. He is with us now but he is trying to figure out if he wants to be here or the other side of the Oakland Bay bridge where his work is - if he stays here we can hit the road for some small trips. If not we can take the motorhome out around the block.

SICK, SICK, SICK!

While we were walking in Reno we saw all these cute little pinwheels. But when we investigated a bit we see that each of these windmills (that were in several parks in the city) we for 7, 369 reports of child abuse and neglect in just one county in Reno. Imagaine the ones not reported. Very sad!!!!

At Uncle Brent's new apartment in Millbrae, CA

Their are no three new beaders!

Tarra made her tennis bracelet last week. Now mother, Dianna and sister Lauren are beading also.
I could not believe what a great job they did. They of course want to make more.

We are good tired!!!!

You have not heard from us because we have been so busy I haven't had
time to blog. I had 9 family members for dinner two nights in a row. Not
sure how we pulled that off. We love playing games too. Grandpa Gordon
made pancakes and our grandsons and niece ate outside. So much fun to be
around our family. I will miss this when we get back on the road.
