This is called a 'Shotgun House' and there were hundreds of these little narrow houses all lined up in a row. This house looks really good ~ has been fixed up (Post Hurricane). They were all mostly built out of old wood. Check out to see an example of some homes on a cotton plantation (these are mostly square, not long shotgun types) but still authentic and a wonderful true experience to stay in a real cotton picker's home http://www.shackupinn.com. Al and I boondocked there and just had a blast. Located in Clarksdale, MS right in the heart of Blues Country. What fun people have here.
